Speculative Drawing Panel, SPACES

About: I was invited to be a panelist at the Speculative Drawing event at SPACES as part of the exhibition 7000 Marks by Sara Black, Assistant Professor at School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and Amber Ginsburg, Lecturer at the University of Chicago. As part of this event, I gave a presentation about my research into the history of printed images and how they have influenced cultural perceptions of the natural world and how that has impacted my current work. I then led a speculative drawing exercise in which participants were asked to imagine nature through drawing with pencils created by Black and Ginsburg from a Sudden Oak Death infected oak tree as part of their exhibition.
