Teaching Development Grant, University Teaching Council

About: In 2018, I received a $1,000 Teaching Development Grant from the University Teaching Council to build a new ferric chloride etching facility for etching copper. Previously, the print area used only nitric for etching zinc, which is both more toxic and less precise than etching copper with ferric chloride. The use of these new facilities has been integral to updating the printmaking curriculum and ensuring a high level of student work that is as safe as possible.
