Denbo Fellowship and Residency at Pyramid Atlantic Art Center, Hyattsville, MD

About: From June 11-29, 2018, I was an artist-in-residence and Denbo Fellow at Pyramid Atlantic Art Center in Hyattsville, MD. I completed a body of work in lithography, titled Closed System. The images in the series are abstractions of scenes at the Cleveland Botanical Garden and the title Closed System refers to both the ecology of botanical gardens as closed systems and the systematic process I used to create the work. My system involved the creation of a set of lithographic images, a set of colors, and a stack of paper; through reprinting the images in varied layers of color, a set of unique images were made from a stable set of variables. As a resident, I also gave a talk about my work that was open to the public.
